Ayurveda is a complete medical system with a 5,000-year clinical tradition, but the information published on this website is offered for educational purposes — not as a substitute for an in-person consultation, examination, diagnosis, or treatment by a qualified healthcare practitioner.
Effective date: 3 May 2026
The website is educational, not diagnostic
Articles, product descriptions, free resources, blog posts, and any other content published on a-yur-veda.com are intended to introduce classical Ayurvedic concepts and the tools used in self-care practice. Reading this website does not establish a doctor–patient relationship, and the content is not a substitute for personal medical advice.
For diagnosis, treatment, or any concern about your health, please consult Dr. Arlini Singh through a booked consultation, or your own physician.
A-YUR-VEDA products are wellness instruments
The tools we sell — the Padabhyanga foot massage wand, the Mukhabhyanga gua sha, the copper tongue scraper, and any future additions to the catalogue — are wellness instruments used in classical Ayurvedic self-care. They are not medical devices, are not regulated as such, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Where we describe traditional Ayurvedic effects (for example, that Padabhyanga "grounds vata and cools pitta"), we are referring to traditional Ayurvedic understanding, not to medical claims under Health Canada's Food and Drugs Act or Natural Health Products Regulations.
Allergies and material sensitivity
Our tools are made from natural metals only:
- The Kansa Foot Massage Wand and Kansa Gua Sha are cast in pure kansa — a bronze alloy of 78% copper and 20% tin, certified by our supplier as lead-free and mercury-free
- The Copper Tongue Scraper is pure copper
If you have a known sensitivity or allergy to copper, tin, or other metals, please do not use these tools — or perform a small patch test on the inside of your forearm first and wait 24 hours before extended use.
Discontinue use immediately if you notice any skin irritation, rash, persistent metallic taste, or unusual discolouration, and consult your physician.
When to consult your own physician first
You should speak with your own physician before using any of our tools, beginning any Ayurvedic protocol, or changing your dietary or self-care routine if you:
- Are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
- Have an active medical condition, including but not limited to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmune disease, cancer, or a mental health condition under treatment
- Are taking prescription medication of any kind, including blood thinners
- Are recovering from surgery or have a recent injury in the area you intend to treat
- Have broken skin, an open wound, varicose veins, or a skin condition in the area of intended use
- Have a metal allergy or sensitivity
- Are caring for a child under the age of 16
Ayurveda is complementary to conventional medicine, not a replacement for it. Dr. Arlini Singh practises in formal clinical integration with Dr. Kishore Singh (MD, MBChB, CCFP, FCFP), a Family Physician at Appleby Medical Centre and Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at McMaster University. The two traditions are stronger together than apart, and patients can be referred between the two practices as clinically appropriate.
Consultation services
Consultations booked through Jane App are private appointments with Dr. Arlini Singh. They include personal history, dosha assessment, and an Ayurvedic plan. They are not a substitute for primary care from a family physician, urgent care, or emergency medical services.
In a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. Do not delay seeking emergency care to consult this website, our resources, or to wait for an Ayurvedic appointment.
Health claims
Statements made on this website about traditional uses of Ayurvedic tools, herbs, or practices have not been evaluated by Health Canada or any other regulatory body. Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a claim that any product, herb, food, or practice will diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, A-YUR-VEDA, Dr. Arlini Singh, and our staff accept no liability for any loss, injury, or adverse outcome arising from the use of information published on this website, the use of our products, or the application of advice given in a consultation outside the agreed treatment plan.
This does not limit our liability for negligence resulting in death or personal injury, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under Canadian law.
